Yesterday, i attended AMK Methodist Church *for those who don't understand the term AMK it means Ang Mo Kio* The sermon was about perseverance and sufferings. I find the topic very good and it emphasizes the very fundamental practices of a deligent Christian. I find the topic very useful to the teachings of today context because not many churches preaches about P & S but rather preach about blessings.
No doubt blessings are what every believer seeks, but they must understand before getting the blessings they must also do something for the Lord in order to receive the blessings from HIM. Correct? Very simple example, in your work place, if you don't work and just sit down, will your boss pay you salary? So same goes to believing God. Moreover, He is the Almighthy and Only One.
Rev Stanley Chua:
"Perseverance means sticking with something for as long as God calls you to do. No matter how long it takes, no matter how difficult or painful it becomes, no matter how many discouragements and disappointments and obstacles you encounter along way"
"Perseverance only makes sense if you're heading the right direction"
Just a sharing about the sermon. I find it very very useful and rare to get to listen to such teachings in churches nowadays.
